Rorschach Test

Swiss psychiatrist Hermann Rorschach created this test in 1921. It is a projective test in which the subject states perceptions of a series of inkblots. These perceptions are then interpreted by an assessor. The test is made up of ten symmetrical inkblots—five in black, two in red and black, and three multicoloured blots. The inkblots are created by folding in half a piece of paper splashed in ink. The subject is asked what the inkblot makes them think about. Interpretation of a subject's responses is carried out by a trained psychologist who asks the subject to expand verbally on the responses given.
