London School of Economics and Political Science, college of the University of London, England. The London School of Economics and Political Science was founded in 1895 on the initiative of Lord Passmore (then Mr Sidney Webb) to improve the facilities for the study of the social sciences. It became a school of the University of London in 1900. The head of the college is known as the Director. Famous alumni include Maurice Saatchi and Lee Kuan Yew, the first Prime Minister of Singapore.
