Windows Live® Search Results Evesham, town on the banks of the River Avon, in the county of Worcestershire, western England. It is the market town for the Vale of Evesham, one of Britain's principal areas for the production of fruit and vegetables. The Avon flows past the ruins of a Benedictine abbey, part of which now houses the Almonry Museum with its exhibits from the Battle of Evesham (1265), at which the future Edward I defeated Simon de Montfort. Population (1993 estimate) 18,400.
