Indigestion, common inclusive term used to describe physical discomfort of the upper gastrointestinal tract, associated with eating or drinking. The symptoms include heartburn, acid indigestion, belching, gaseous distention, flatulence, fullness, pressure, nausea, and vomiting.

Some symptoms of indigestion are similar to those of serious diseases; self-treatment should not be prolonged.
