Windows Live® Search Results Brian Berry (1934- ), Anglo-American geographer, known for studies of the interplay of commerce and natural circumstances. Born and educated in Britain, he became a United States citizen in 1965. After teaching at the University of Chicago, he moved to Harvard University in 1976 as professor of urban and regional planning. Berry's writings cover such topics as highway development, commercial blight, and the geography of market centres, and his books include the two-volume Growth Centers in the American Urban System (1973), Economic Geography (1987), Long-Wave Rhythms in Economic Development and Political Behaviour (1991), and The Global Economy (1993).
