Boulogne-Billancourt, town in the Île-de-France administrative region, central northern France in the Hauts-de-Seine Department, on the River Seine near Paris. It is an industrial centre, with factories producing motor vehicles, aircraft, bicycles, chemicals, and processed food. A Gothic cathedral dating from the 14th century is there. Nearby is the Bois de Boulogne, a large park which links the suburb to the western edge of Paris. Formerly known as Boulogne-sur-Seine, the town received its present name in 1925. Population 109,400 (2005 estimate).
