La Línea (in full La Línea de la Concepción), town and seaport on the Bay of Algeciras, in Cádiz Province, Andalusia Autonomous Region, south-western Spain. Situated on the narrow isthmus connecting Gibraltar with Spain, the city lies on the northern side of the neutral zone that separates Spain from the British dependency of Gibraltar. It is the site of a Spanish military camp at the frontier. La Línea is also a trade centre for Gibraltar and supplies the dependency with local cereals, fruit, and vegetables. Liquor, fish products, and cement are manufactured here. The city has beaches, a theatre, casinos, and a bullring. Population 63,026 (2006 estimate).
