Mont Cenis (Italian Moncenisio), mountain pass, southern Europe, in the Alps, on the border between France and Italy. The pass reaches an elevation of about 2,090 m (6,850 ft) above sea level. A road was constructed between 1803 and 1810 by order of Napoleon. A rail tunnel, completed in 1871, is about 13 km (8 mi) long and connects Turin, Italy, with Chambéry, France.
