Carnic Alps, range of the Eastern Alps, south central Europe. Forming a part of the border between Italy and Austria, they extend along the frontiers of the Austrian provinces of Tirol and Carinthia and the Italian regions of Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Kellerwand, the highest peak of the Carnic Alps, rises 2,780 m (9,121 ft) above sea level.
