Windows Live® Search Results Ubangi, river of central Africa, the chief tributary of the Congo, formed by the confluence of the Uele and Bomu rivers at Yakoma in the north of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The river flows generally north-west, forming the border between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Central African Republic. Near Possel, Central African Republic, the Ubangi turns south-west, and then flows between the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of the Congo. The Ubangi, which is about 1,060 km (660 mi) long, enters the River Congo near Lake Tumba in the north-west of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Ubangi is navigable for about 600 km (375 mi) from its junction with the Congo to Bangui, in the Central African Republic.
