Windows Live® Search Results Usumacinta, river, northern Central America, formed by the confluence of the Pasión and the Chixoy rivers, rising in Guatemala. It flows in a winding north-western course through Guatemala and Mexico, emptying into the Bay of Campeche. It is about 960 km (600 mi) long, and is navigable for 480 km (300 mi). In its middle course it forms the boundary between Mexico and Guatemala.
