Windows Live® Search Results Logroño, town in northern Spain, capital of La Rioja autonomous region and province, on the Ebro River. It is the trading and industrial centre for a rich agricultural region noted for its wine. Industries include food processing, and the manufacture of textiles, furniture, chemicals, and perfumes. Logroño consists of an ancient quarter and a modern district. Historic sites include a 12th-century bridge and several churches dating from the early Middle Ages. Founded in pre-Roman times, the town was annexed to the former kingdom of Castile in 1173. Population 145,866 (2007).
