Richard Anuskiewicz (1930- ), American Op Art painter and printmaker, whose geometric works seem to pulsate with black-and-white shapes or the interaction of violent colour. Born in Erie, Pennsylvania, Anuszkiewicz studied at the Cleveland Art Institute and at Yale University with Josef Albers, who at the time was experimenting with squares of colour. Among Anuszkiewicz's paintings is Convexity II (1966, Sidney Janis Gallery, New York). Later he produced three-dimensional painted cubes.
