Windows Live® Search Results Karlskrona, town and naval port in southern Sweden, capital of Blekinge County on the Baltic Sea. The city occupies five islands and part of the adjoining mainland, which are connected by bridges. Among the industries here are shipbuilding, brewing, granite quarrying and the manufacture of clothing, naval equipment, metal products, and porcelain. Since 1680 Karlskrona has been the headquarters of the Swedish navy. Harbour installations include forts, dry docks, and a substantial arsenal. The naval port of Karlskrona was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998. Population (1988 estimate) 58,650.
