Windows Live® Search Results Kızıl (ancient Halys), river, Turkey, the longest in the country, rising in north central Turkey, near Kizil Dağ mountain, east of Sivas. From the source, the river flows in a broad arc south-west to the vicinity of Nevşehir, then north-west to Kalecik; from there it then flows generally north-east to Cape Bafra on the Black Sea. The total length of Kızıl is more than 1,127 km (700 mi).
