Blackpool (unitary authority), administrative division, England. Blackpool unitary authority is located in the north-west of the country, between Lancashire and the Irish Sea.

On April 1, 1998, the borough council that had administered the town of Blackpool, in conjunction with Lancashire County Council, was replaced by Blackpool unitary authority. The new administrative body is responsible for the provision of all local government services, including those previously provided by the county council. Although administered separately, Blackpool remains geographically part of Lancashire. Population 142,284 (2001).
