Definition:
 
1. embryo cell pair forming vertebrae: one of a series of paired blocks of cells that develop along the back of a vertebrate embryo, giving rise to the vertebral column and most of the skeletal muscles

2. body segment: a body segment, usually one of several, into which the bodies of some animals such as earthworms and crayfish are divided along their length
