Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb divide something with sharp tool: to divide something into pieces using a knife, scissors, or a similar sharp-edged tool

2. transitive verb sever part using sharp tool: to sever something or separate a part of something using a sharp-edged tool such as a knife, scissors, or a saw
