Kiddush [ kíddəsh, kíddush ] (plural Kiddushim [ kídoo shm ]) or kiddush [ kíddəsh, kíddush ] (plural kiddushim)

Definition:
 
1. blessing: in Judaism, a special blessing, usually for wine, said before a meal on the eve of the Sabbath or a holiday in order to consecrate the festival

2. reception: a reception following the recitation of the Kiddush for the congregants, at which drinks and snacks are served
