Plato:
Greek philosopher, one of the most creative and influential thinkers in Western philosophy (c. 428-c. 347 BC). At the heart of Plato’s constructive philosophy is his theory of forms, or ideas. He was a disciple of Socrates, whose execution he witnessed and recorded in the Phaedo. Perhaps the most famous of all his works is The Republic, a dialogue on the nature of justice in the soul and in the state.
